Now, music in Egypt is really big. A lot of kid's dream about being musicans, and many attempt/start playing music. But, there's soo many barrieris and issues...its nuts! here's a little list;
- actual entities that certify musicians arent that widespread
- work for musicans is usually a few gigs and mostly bars/pubs
- if one want to make an album/recording u need;
- money....piles
- conections ......looots of them
- time
- and sadly....the worst part is....sometimes u
need to sorta sleep with everyone up the ladder till u have ur album out....and its still not over then.
i have lots of friends in the music world....i love it
i used to be
a vocalist....i'm a bad guitarist, but i DO like to sing
but....i decided earlier on that it was too much of a risk as a career path
and of course....everything im mentioning in this entry was always scaring me
nyways....a friend on mine....a singer...trying to get her album released
she did EVERYTHING...recording and all....data and pic ready....nothing missing w
hatsoever
BUT....everywhere she goes...all she was told was " sorry kid, ur not a whore, so this ain't gonna work"
.......so she started naming singers and asking if THEY needed to sleep with everyone to get their stuff released
" whore"," whore
" ,"yup shes a whore too", "no shes got a billionare husband", " oh!shes a definte whore, but not publicly, only in private"
now what the hell is that!
and there are sooooooooo many tallented musicians here! its scary
true...there's the "sawy culture center" which is awsome, and THE only entity (that i know of) that promotes young artists
but thats it
thats aaaaaaaaall the support musicians have
and a war to fight
i thought music was fun
entertaining
now i feel like its tainted
