SHOPPING!

Now whoever said shopping was fun?
Well, it IS sometimes....when its in a niiiiiiiice mall or big supermarket, its ok, u just get dizzy from looking at so much stuff!
BUT....when it's in a souq (an arab market)....the case isnt that simple
you walk in slummy alley ways, dodge cars, horses,mules,donkeys and people
haggle ur ass off
fight with people who harras u
not always enjoyable
is an understatment
but....sometimes u bump into silly little instances that send your soul flying somewhere in lala land
i know that wasnt very comprehendable
but i mean sweet little instances in the middle of all that crap that makes my day
for example
one loooooooooooong day in the souq, i was carrying tons of stuff and wasn't very happy
but as i was standing in a store, i overheard a couple of foreigners speaking english and trying to explain something to the shop owner using their driver as a translator
the poor women could get NOTHING accross
so of course i jumped in and helped
they were looking for something specific
and have been looking for it for a while
and were pretty exhasperated
and they didnt have much time in the country
so i helped find EXACTLY what they wanted from that same shop
and directed them where to find the rest of their stuff, giving the driver pointers etc
u have nooooooooooo idea how fulfiling their happiness was
they were exstatic
which was reeeeaally touching
made my day
sent me back to the office all smiles
instead of all bitchy cus of my long walk
yaaaaaaaay
